Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant payment capture microservices processing millions of transactions daily.
- Build reusable frameworks for integrating prepaid cards, debit cards, digital rewards, buy-now-pay-later providers, and other payment instruments.
- Implement event-driven payment processing pipelines using Apache Kafka and Avro Schema Registry.
- Design data persistence, state management, TTL archival, and lifecycle management for payment transactions.
- Develop order lifecycle features including refunds, tipping, SKU resolution, and restaurant partner ID mapping.
- Deploy and manage containerized services on Kubernetes with configuration management, feature flags, and canary deployment pipelines.
- Perform production incident root cause analysis and participate in active on-call rotations while improving MTTD and MTTR.
- Build observability, alert thresholds, monitoring playbooks, Grafana dashboards, and payment-specific failure monitoring.
- Create end-to-end regression test suites for quick-service restaurant order management use cases.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing to engineers.
- Apply object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles and enforce code quality standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of large-scale enterprise software development experience, or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 6 years of such experience.
- Experience designing distributed order search platforms with Apache Solr and SolrCloud, including schema design, partial updates, incremental indexing, composite-key document management, and index maintenance.
- Experience building financial event-streaming pipelines with Apache Kafka, Kafka Avro, and Schema Registry.
- Experience with payment capture systems, deferred authorization, retry and idempotency logic, EBT/SNAP, digital wallets, and payment platform migration.
- Experience with Apache Cassandra and Azure Cosmos DB for high-throughput financial transaction storage, archival, and lifecycle management.
- Experience building microservices and extensible APIs for large-scale e-commerce order management systems.
- Experience optimizing databases, indexes, Solr collections, and Cassandra schemas in high-throughput distributed systems.
- Experience resolving production payment and order management incidents using Grafana, log analysis, and Kubernetes monitoring tools.
- Fluency and specialization in Java, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with unit testing, automation, and code reviews using JUnit, Mockito, and Postman.
- Experience with CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub, Maven, Artifactory, and Git.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for large-scale service deployment and management.
