Base Salary
$123k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Automate and build runtime production environments
- Connect application teams and applications, including custom development, COTS, and open-source software, with production environments
- Validate solutions and implementations against tasks and business requirements
- Independently identify and solve business problems and develop small components
- Understand and execute medium-level tasks in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Estimate time and effort for medium-sized tasks to support planning and resource allocation
- Use programming languages and shell scripting appropriately for task execution
- Own the bridge between application development teams and the production environment
- Guide junior engineers and advocate platform best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar system architecture and development role
- Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and Docker
- Familiarity with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ansible, plus basic shell scripting knowledge
- Proficiency with YAML
- Experience working in an Agile, remote team environment
- Strong independent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with security automation and familiarity with API Security, Container Security, and Cloud Security
- Familiarity with architecture security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in complex enterprise environments
- Comfort debugging systems and reading and writing code
- Active Secret clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification
- Experience with Department of Defense work, particularly a production Authority to Operate system
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, DevOps, and CI/CD theory
