Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new or revised application systems and programs using Core Java.
- Perform feasibility studies, estimates, IT planning, risk technology, application development, and model development.
- Manage or participate in analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and operational support.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Develop post-implementation security measures and assess system usage and functionality.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups and assist with customer-facing system exposure.
- Define operating standards and processes and ensure required procedures are followed.
- Advise or coach new and lower-level analysts.
- Assess and escalate technology, compliance, control, and business risks.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive Core Java 17 or later experience with strong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Hands-on experience with microservices, multithreaded systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kafka or Solace messaging systems.
- Proficiency with Spring and cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, and Gradle.
- Experience with MongoDB or Couchbase document databases.
- Experience with JUnit and Cucumber testing frameworks.
- Solid understanding of the FIX protocol.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Chronicle framework or low-latency programming experience is beneficial.
- Experience with KDB time-series databases and equities trading OMS is beneficial.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a globally distributed team.
