Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features, distributed microservices, and asynchronous APIs.
- Design event-driven data pipelines, real-time message integrations, serverless functions, and distributed caching strategies.
- Implement error handling, database migrations, and OAuth 2.0, JWT, and RBAC authentication and authorization flows.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, optimize containerized environments, and establish observability with tracing, metrics, and logging.
- Maintain automated unit, integration, and load-test coverage and drive performance profiling.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical guidance, and alignment discussions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with backend languages such as Python, Go, or Java and 2+ years scaling production distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of asynchronous programming, relational databases, query optimization, partitioning, and distributed key-value caches.
- Strong understanding of microservices communication, event streaming, message brokers, containerization, and CQRS/event-sourcing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems, serverless compute, managed storage, IAM, Infrastructure as Code tools, ORMs, and secure API design.
- Demonstrated ownership of technical initiatives, analytical ability, communication skills, and experience leading alignment in agile environments.
- Preferred qualifications include experience connecting cloud architectures to legacy databases, relevant financial services, logistics, fleet management, or dynamic pricing experience, CI/CD and high-availability optimization, disaster recovery planning, and familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana and performance profiling tools.
