Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and modernize a Windows desktop application primarily built in C++.
- Use Qt, multithreaded programming, CMake, and Visual Studio to build and troubleshoot robust applications.
- Analyze and resolve complex software issues using debugging tools and performance profilers.
- Translate customer and business requirements into technical designs and formal software specifications.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Develop and expand automated unit and integration test coverage.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Application Support, and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Contribute to roadmap efforts, technical debt reduction, backward compatibility, and long-term platform sustainability.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ and object-oriented software design.
- Experience maintaining long-lived commercial software products and working with large, complex production codebases.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Experience debugging complex issues across multiple application layers.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, CMake, and Windows application development.
- Familiarity with source control systems, automated builds, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking tools.
- Experience with Agile software development processes such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes mature or legacy software modernization, backward compatibility, vcpkg, Conan, NuGet, automated testing, software quality engineering, distributed engineering organizations, and hardware-connected desktop applications.
