Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services critical to the Apple TV app and content catalog.
- Own and improve critical components of the service stack.
- Write high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code.
- Participate in design discussions, constructive code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop solutions involving distributed systems, data modeling, caching, message queues, observability, and eventually consistent databases.
- Build tools using JavaScript and UI skills when needed.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Java programming.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn.
- Three or more years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of caching technologies, key/value stores, and message queues preferred.
- Experience with client-server protocols and API design preferred.
- Strong data modeling and distributed systems knowledge preferred.
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency Java services preferred.
- Understanding of observability and eventually consistent databases preferred.
- JavaScript and UI skills for building tools preferred.
