Responsibilities
- Lead strategies to improve reliability, maintainability, and scalability across payment flows and platform components.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews to identify risks and improve fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective fixes.
- Define and enforce resiliency patterns, frameworks, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Implement chaos engineering and failure testing to validate system resilience.
- Design and implement full-stack observability covering metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting.
- Develop automation for failover, capacity management, and self-healing to reduce operational risk.
- Partner with development, infrastructure, architecture, and production support teams to embed reliability into the software development lifecycle.
- Analyze service risk assessments and production incidents to identify systemic issues and drive long-term improvements.
- Promote operational excellence and a culture of designing for failure across engineering teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure roles.
- At least 5 years of experience focused on reliability engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Proven experience building and operating fault-tolerant, highly available systems at scale.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Expertise across compute, storage, networking, application architecture, databases, and integration patterns.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues and perform deep root cause analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with development, operations, infrastructure, production support, and architecture teams to embed reliability into design and delivery.
