Responsibilities
- Maintain, scale, and enhance the Kubernetes production platform.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and availability of production systems.
- Build comprehensive observability across services, infrastructure, and applications, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerts.
- Diagnose and tune database and service performance across distributed systems.
- Partner with Development teams to evaluate the platform impact of new features and architectural changes.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and contribute to scalable, resilient technical solutions.
- Collaborate with Support teams on operational runbooks and improved incident response processes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments.
- Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting expertise.
- Required GCP cloud experience; multi-cloud exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Strong understanding of container lifecycle management and deployments.
- Programming experience in Go, Python, or a comparable language.
- Experience with database performance optimization and tuning.
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and network-level troubleshooting.
- At least 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a master’s degree, 5 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience; a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
