Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the organization’s platform engineering strategy, including self-service infrastructure, reusable templates, golden paths, engineering standards, governance, and developer enablement.
  • Design and operate enterprise-scale AWS environments and define cloud operating models, infrastructure standards, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Lead Kubernetes platform architecture and operations, including multi-cluster strategies, workload governance, cluster security, resilient container platforms, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Standardize CI/CD, GitOps, deployment, rollback, and release management practices across engineering teams.
  • Lead Terraform modules, AWS CDK blueprints, policy-as-code, drift detection, infrastructure compliance, and IaC quality standards.
  • Establish observability, reliability, incident response, SLI/SLO, error budget, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting practices.
  • Embed security into the software development lifecycle and establish IAM, secrets management, security scanning, and compliance practices supporting SOC2 and ISO27001.
  • Develop and operate enterprise Java applications and microservices, review application architectures, troubleshoot JVM and infrastructure issues, and design platforms optimized for Java workloads.
  • Mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews and technical governance forums, and influence technology strategy and roadmap decisions across organizational boundaries.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and operating AWS environments at scale, 5+ years of production Kubernetes experience, and 5+ years of hands-on Java software development experience.
  • Significant experience with enterprise Java applications, microservices, application performance troubleshooting, Kubernetes deployments, distributed systems, scalable application design, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Proven experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and building and operating mission-critical production platforms.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, and Terraform Associate.
  • Preferred experience includes enterprise governance frameworks, regulated industries, large-scale SaaS platforms, FinOps, and cloud cost management.
