Responsibilities
- Design, develop, improve, and operate software and platform capabilities for Barclays’ global network.
- Build and run OSS infrastructure and toolchains across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containerized platforms, and Kubernetes-based systems.
- Build ELT and data pipelines and integrate cloud storage, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Define and monitor KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs using observability, telemetry, and log analytics tooling.
- Provide technical direction, guide team members, advise stakeholders, and support risk and control management.
- Apply secure coding, unit testing, code review, and software quality practices.
Requirements
- Strong Linux proficiency and hands-on expertise with containerization and Kubernetes.
- Programming expertise in Python, Java, or Golang and experience with NetDevOps automation.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and SRE principles.
- Experience with middleware technologies such as Kafka and API gateways.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, Flink, and Hadoop ecosystem tools.
- Expertise building ELT pipelines and cloud or storage integrations, including data lake and warehouse integrations.
- Knowledge of DevOps tooling, GitOps, CI/CD, configuration management, Jenkins, build pipelines, and source control systems.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services including compute, storage, networking, hybrid connectivity, monitoring, logging, security, and IAM.
- Experience defining KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs using tools such as ELK and Prometheus.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, perform complex analysis, manage risk, advise stakeholders, and coach less experienced specialists.
