Responsibilities
- Build and design the next generation of Stripe products for large-scale customer and company needs.
- Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and teams across Stripe to build features and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team with open communication and strong colleague relationships.
Requirements
- 2–10+ years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
- Strong coding skills in any programming language.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across team workstreams and support peers’ success.
- Ability to work with substantial autonomy and responsibility with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Interest in generalist software engineering across varying technologies and stacks.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale financial tracking systems.
- Preferred: practical knowledge of cloud-based services, including gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
