Base Salary
$169k - $253k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and operate knowledge graphs and ontologies representing relationships in grocery data.
- Build vector, graph, and structured retrieval systems that provide reliable context to models.
- Develop LLM-powered agents with tool use, multi-step reasoning, orchestration, and reliable serving infrastructure.
- Create reusable platform tools, abstractions, and interfaces for other engineers and AI products.
- Establish evaluation sets, LLM-as-judge harnesses, tracing, observability, and metrics for faithfulness, accuracy, hallucination rate, latency, and cost.
- Build pipelines, data products, and experimentation systems using Databricks and MLflow to take AI systems from prototype to production.
- Partner with field AI engineers to harden successful solutions into reusable capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production software, data, or ML systems.
- Strong software engineering, systems design, and API design skills with Python.
- Hands-on production experience with LLM retrieval/RAG, agents, tool use, prompt and context engineering, and evaluation.
- Solid data engineering and data platform foundations, including pipelines, data modeling, Databricks/Spark, MLflow, and cloud warehouses.
- Ability to manage retrieval quality, latency, cost, and nondeterminism while building trustworthy guardrails and evaluations.
- Platform-oriented approach with clean interfaces and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Preferred experience with production knowledge graphs, ontologies, semantic layers, graph databases, vector stores, hybrid search, MCP, LangGraph, MLOps, model serving, and LLM experimentation or observability tooling.
- Experience in grocery, retail, or other complex enterprise data domains is a plus.
