Senior Software Engineer, Allocation & Onboarding

Base Salary

$225k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and own fellow platform experiences including onboarding, the fellow homepage, and project opportunities
  • Design and build systems that power fellow allocation and transform manual operational workflows into scalable platform capabilities
  • Partner with Growth, Operations, Product, and ML to translate business processes into technical solutions
  • Lead projects end-to-end from technical design and implementation through rollout and continuous iteration
  • Drive architectural improvements, reduce technical debt, and establish scalable service layers
  • Build reliable and secure systems that improve fellow and operator experiences
  • Mentor engineers through technical leadership, project ownership, and strong engineering practices

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of owning production systems end-to-end
  • Experience leading technical projects involving multiple contributors and driving successful execution
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for translating ambiguous business needs into technical solutions
  • Excellent engineering judgment and systems-thinking skills, including scalable architecture design and pragmatic tradeoffs
  • Experience improving or modernizing existing systems while balancing product delivery and long-term platform health
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Experience with marketplace, allocation, matching, or workflow systems is a plus
  • Experience with AI workflows and agentic infrastructure is a plus
  • Experience designing service-oriented architectures or platform infrastructure is a plus
