Responsibilities
- Design and develop Go services to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
- Explore and create architectures for high-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
- Build and scale backend services with the infrastructure team and conduct root cause analysis.
- Develop, analyze, debug, and resolve issues in large-scale systems, including production incidents during on-call shifts.
- Collaborate with product and experience teams on feature specifications and prototypes.
- Participate in technical interviews and provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge sharing to peers.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience in a distributed systems environment.
- Experience with Golang, including its syntax, semantics, standard library, concurrency primitives, and application optimization.
- Knowledge of operational excellence, site reliability, system performance, system health, and service capacity planning.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
- Familiarity with large-scale web services, systems internals, and networking.
- Experience developing high-throughput, scalable distributed systems, including streaming systems and queuing models.
- Ability to work with Golang despite prior coding experience in languages such as C++, C, Java, Scala, Rust, Haskell, OCaml, Erlang, Python, Ruby, PHP, Node.js, or C#.
- Preferred expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, AWS DynamoDB, and Scylla.
- Preferred experience mentoring junior developers and aligning technical strategies with product goals.
