Base Salary
$122k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reliable backend solutions, APIs, and web applications for Nordstrom’s inventory management business.
- Implement and maintain integrations with internal systems, technology teams, and external vendor applications.
- Analyze, code, test, install, troubleshoot, enhance, and support complex software systems.
- Participate in code reviews, Scrum development, continuous delivery, cloud migration, and test-driven development practices.
- Drive build and release plans and deploy applications to production environments.
- Provide application and production support, including rotating 24x7 shifts, defect resolution, monitoring, alerting, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with business, infrastructure, security, and cross-functional teams on enhancements and bug fixes.
- Assist with high-level software strategy, architecture, design reviews, and application design decisions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the practice area.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Experience with backend relational or NoSQL databases, preferably Oracle.
- Experience with RESTful architecture, services, JSON, and XML; SOAP experience is also relevant.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services and familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or C# and the ability to work across multiple technology stacks.
- Familiarity with messaging middleware such as Kafka and SQS.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and how agents can accelerate design, coding, and testing.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, application design patterns, testing tools, and software release practices.
- Experience with Oracle Retail Merchandising Applications, including RMS, RIB, or SIM, is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, troubleshooting, and self-direction skills.
