Responsibilities
- Lead the design and operation of backend services for product recommendations.
- Architect and maintain large-scale data processing pipelines.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to productionize recommendation models.
- Drive the development of ML/AI systems for recommendations and search.
- Implement data and service observability practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to shared frameworks.
- Break down projects into clear milestones with Product teams.
- Lead A/B testing efforts and data-driven decision making.
- Participate in on-call and incident response for owned systems.
- Champion the integration of AI into engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in backend services.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Proficient in Python and open to other programming languages.
- Familiar with cloud-native architectures and container orchestration.
- Experience in data-driven decision making and A/B testing.
- Comfortable designing and querying data models in various datastores.
- Familiar with modern DevOps practices.
- Track record of owning multi-component projects end-to-end.
- Excellent technical collaboration and communication skills.
- Self-starter with experience in AI experimentation.
