Base Salary
$144k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test new embedded software.
- Create or modify Board Support Packages, device drivers, power-on firmware, built-in test software, and design verification test software.
- Analyze requirements and develop design alternatives.
- Develop test software and procedures.
- Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
- Provide input to architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Evaluate new technologies and products and contribute to process improvement.
- Provide task breakdowns and estimates for project planning.
- Review and validate software releases and coordinate software releases.
- Maintain knowledge of embedded software trends and share expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Strong C programming skills.
- Experience developing Linux and/or VxWorks device drivers.
- Experience developing hardware design-verification test software.
- Firmware and/or BIOS development experience.
- Knowledge of embedded software engineering processes and standards.
- Ability to read and understand IC datasheets and board schematics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, responsibility, quality focus, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Active secret clearance or ability to obtain one is desirable.
- Experience with Yocto Linux, Xilinx PetaLinux, Xilinx MPSoC, device-driver interrupts and DMA, configuration-management tools, defect-tracking tools, debugging tools, and test methodologies is an asset.
- Experience with PCIe, PCI, FPGAs, I2C, Flash, Ethernet, and project management is an asset.
