Base Salary
$186k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and APIs using Java, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Own technical projects from start to finish, including architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing improvements.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Frontend Engineers to deliver features that solve real customer problems.
- Identify root causes of technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Play an active role in shaping Gong’s backend architecture as the company scales.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with deep expertise in Java.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, debug efficiently, and build high-quality systems.
- Experience designing and running cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including microservices architectures.
- Bonus points for experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, or data-driven APIs.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
