Responsibilities
- Build and integrate new APIs and backend services.
- Tune existing services as they scale.
- Support the expansion of new financial products and services in the US.
- Deliver clean, elegant, idiomatic solutions in Kotlin or Java.
- Contribute to collaborative design forums with stakeholders across the business.
- Write comprehensive automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid.
- Collaborate with teammates, share knowledge, and continuously improve engineering capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Kotlin or JVM-based engineering, with willingness to work with Kotlin.
- Ability to write simple, clean code and understand software architectures, abstraction, and interpolation.
- Experience with databases, with relational databases required and NoSQL experience desirable.
- Ability to understand complex financial business domains quickly.
- Ability to write comprehensive automated tests.
- Understanding of Kanban is desirable but not required.
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, learning, and pragmatic decision-making skills.
