Base Salary
$167k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable services for a high-throughput laboratory.
- Develop both front-end and back-end applications.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Develop comprehensive unit tests to ensure high code quality.
- Collaborate with end-users and product managers to iterate on requirements.
- Optimize AWS architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives.
- Occasionally visit the lab in San Carlos, CA for user feedback.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software application development.
- Proven experience with Python, React, and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, and S3.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Familiarity with messaging frameworks like Kafka.
- Strong quality assurance mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
