Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy, architecture, roadmap, and governance practices for the experimentation platform.
- Build near-real-time observability and alerting systems using Scala, Pub/Sub, Akka, and Dataflow on Google Cloud.
- Architect and maintain large-scale batch data pipelines using Dataflow, BigQuery, and Airflow/Cloud Composer.
- Develop experiment targeting, localized assignments, and other core platform capabilities at scale.
- Optimize experimentation pipelines, frameworks, query layers, performance, scalability, cost, and accuracy.
- Evaluate advances in experimentation methods, data analysis, and cloud technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across complex initiatives.
- Partner with marketers, analysts, data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams on experiment analysis and platform infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on data engineering and data architecture.
- Proficiency in Scala, Python, and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines with technologies such as Spark, Flink, Google Dataflow, BigQuery, or Airflow/Composer.
- Familiarity with Python statistical analysis libraries such as Statsmodels and SciPy.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices, including agile methodologies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead complex projects and mentor engineering teams.
- Expertise in A/B testing methodologies and statistical concepts.
