Responsibilities
- Develop and debug code to identify and resolve performance issues.
- Analyze production workloads and system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks.
- Build proof of concepts and turn successful approaches into performance and efficiency solutions.
- Build and maintain a platform focused on product performance, resilience, and quality.
- Monitor system performance over time, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate strategy and recommendations with engineering teams across product, infrastructure, and platform areas.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, SRE, and other cross-functional teams.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure performant solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software industry experience solving complex software engineering problems.
- Experience architecting reliable distributed systems with an emphasis on high-volume data management.
- Experience building backend services and data systems.
- Expertise with algorithms and data structures, Java, and databases.
- Performance engineering experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and automating workloads on large-scale systems is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and containerization is a plus.
- Experience with cloud warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and Databricks is a plus.
- Familiarity with system-level programming, including process and memory management and inter-process communication, is a plus.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, or Datadog is a plus.
