$200k - $247k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive Typeface’s long-term technical vision and company-level strategy for generative AI
- Lead the architecture and design of scalable ML platforms for training, fine-tuning, evaluation, inference, safety, and serving
- Architect and lead large-scale generative AI systems for agentic orchestration and multimodal content generation
- Drive cross-team initiatives across multiple ML systems and product areas
- Partner with executive leadership, product, and design on high-impact technical and product decisions
- Establish best practices for ML evaluation, safety, reliability, and performance at scale
- Identify and incubate high-impact 0-to-1 generative AI opportunities
- Mentor engineers across levels and raise the technical bar across the ML organization
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building and scaling machine learning systems with demonstrated Staff+ impact
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven experience driving multi-team or company-level technical strategy
- Experience leading large, ambiguous, high-impact platform or 0-to-1 initiatives
- Deep expertise in ML systems and infrastructure, including training, evaluation, and inference at scale
- Strong background in generative AI, LLMs, and multimodal systems
- Ability to influence senior leadership and align cross-functional stakeholders
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and elevating engineering excellence
- Proficiency in Python and systems-level programming such as C or C++
- Experience building ML platforms used across multiple products or teams is a bonus
- Prior Staff+, Principal, or Senior Staff experience at a leading AI or technology company is a bonus
- Contributions through publications, patents, open source, or widely adopted systems are a bonus
- Experience in enterprise SaaS or high-growth startup environments is a bonus
