Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, high-throughput backend services and APIs.
- Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for backend challenges and drive major architectural decisions.
- Define backend architecture, including microservices boundaries, data models, integration patterns, and deployment strategies.
- Establish the long-term technical vision and roadmap for backend systems and drive adoption of appropriate technologies and patterns.
- Identify and resolve technical debt and architectural risks proactively.
- Mentor engineers and raise technical expertise and engineering quality across the organization.
- Influence engineering standards and best practices for testing, performance tuning, and security across development teams.
Requirements
- Proven expert proficiency with C#, .NET Core/8+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and related .NET frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to architect and build high-performance, fault-tolerant systems using the .NET stack.
- Strong experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, or serverless systems.
- Expert knowledge of design patterns, domain-driven design, and SOLID principles.
- Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform—AWS, Azure, or GCP—and related services such as managed databases, message queues, or containerization.
- Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies and scalable data modeling.
- Ability to decompose complex problems, evaluate technical trade-offs, and make sound system-level decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and build consensus.
