Base Salary
$80k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build external-facing API endpoints for customers’ core workflows.
- Improve database and query performance.
- Integrate the platform with a wide range of third-party services.
- Translate product requirements into reliable business logic.
- Help diagnose and resolve customer issues.
- Improve platform speed, stability, and usability.
- Collaborate with full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable backend solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally involving external-facing APIs or third-party integrations.
- Strong system design, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Python, Kalepa’s primary technology stack, or a strong background in another object-oriented language.
- Experience with serverless technologies including Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
- Comfort working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Experience with LLMs or generative AI is a bonus.
- Experience with distributed systems is a bonus.
- Ability to take ownership, drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, communicate proactively, and iterate through experimentation.
