$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable components of distributed systems and data-plane platforms for large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Optimize systems and code for high-volume workloads and conduct performance and load testing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented principles.
- Create tests, fault-injection scenarios, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting to monitor system health and correctness.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, write and execute runbooks, and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts, troubleshooting tools, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, documentation standards, and change-management procedures.
- Track work timelines, prioritize tasks as conditions change, collaborate across teams, and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize components of distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, availability, and operability.
- Experience with fault tolerance, replication, synchronization, failover, recovery, performance testing, monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop automation and Infrastructure as Code tooling for cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of security controls including encryption, access management, remediation, and compliance requirements for multi-tenant environments.
- Ability to work independently on standard and non-standard problems, manage timelines with minimal supervision, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to participate in incident response, operational support, runbook execution, and root-cause analysis.
