Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and leverage distributed state-management and data-plane platforms for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Optimize systems and code for large-scale workloads and implement performance and load testing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented design.
- Create tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Implement data replication and synchronization techniques to maintain correctness, integrity, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, develop troubleshooting automation, and participate in support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
- Maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure management.
