Base Salary
$150k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and author core behavior system prompts for AI character expression.
- Identify key personality traits and create datasets to reproduce them.
- Prototype new bot traits and product features through prompt engineering.
- Collaborate with research to build behavioral evaluations for bot performance.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering to translate user feedback into prompt systems.
- Review and refine prompts as they move into production.
- Track emerging issues in bot behavior and prioritize improvements.
- Document model quirks and prompting strategies for team scalability.
- Support research and ML training efforts with meta-prompts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in prompt engineering and developing LLM-based features.
- Strong experience in writing and iterating on complex multi-step prompts.
- Deep understanding of LLM capabilities and how input design affects behavior.
- Experience in creating datasets and evaluating model outputs with ML teams.
- Strong grounding in psychology, sociology, or linguistics related to personality.
- Methodical, hypothesis-driven approach to experimentation.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic familiarity with Python and navigating codebases.
