Base Salary

$120k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain flight software on flight hardware to meet mission requirements.
  • Develop algorithms for real-time decision-making, fault detection, and adaptive responses in space environments.
  • Integrate flight software and autonomy into spacecraft design and mission operations with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform software verification and validation for operational performance and reliability.
  • Drive system-level architecture for autonomy-related features within mission and system constraints.
  • Document software development processes and support end-to-end mission requirements.
  • Participate in hardware-in-the-loop software testing and simulation to validate flight software and autonomy functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience developing and deploying software for space systems.
  • Background in spacecraft mission operations or control systems.
  • Strong modern C++ programming skills and expertise with RTOS and embedded software architecture.
  • Experience with software verification and validation processes.
  • Eligible to hold a security clearance and able to comply with applicable U.S. export-control requirements.
  • Preferred qualifications include full spacecraft life-cycle experience, post-launch operations, Python or similar analytical programming languages, fault-tolerant architectures, autonomy algorithms, machine learning applications, space communication protocols and interfaces, and mentoring experience.
