Base Salary
$146k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop features that improve the performance, reliability, and security of Akamai Cloud Platform.
- Port Akamai modifications to newer Linux kernel versions.
- Debug and fix issues in complex test and production environments.
- Enhance build and test automation for continuous testing.
- Collaborate with platform, application, test, and hardware development teams.
- Contribute work to the open source community and stay current with Linux kernel and operating system changes.
Requirements
- Eight years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least three years of software development experience in C focused on Linux kernel development, along with Perl, Python, or Shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of Linux kernel internals and experience with Linux kernel debugging.
- Experience with at least two of memory management, filesystems, block I/O, TCP/IP stack, and KVM.
- Experience with both x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
- Working knowledge of concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, and network protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, Ethernet, QUIC, HTTP, and TLS.
- Strong collaboration, independent work, and verbal and written communication skills.
