Responsibilities
- Engage faculty, researchers, and staff to identify AI opportunities, define outcomes, and frame problem statements.
- Lead requirements gathering, tool selection, solution architecture, stakeholder alignment, and governance approvals.
- Lead rapid prototyping with AI platforms, APIs, low-code/no-code, and full-stack tools in partnership with AI Solutions Engineers.
- Assess solution sustainability, including cost, security, maintenance, service-owner capacity, readiness, and acceptance criteria.
- Document architectures, decisions, and trade-offs for future maintenance and extension.
- Track the evolving AI landscape and make evidence-based recommendations about capability, risk, cost, readiness, and fit.
- Contribute hands-on to implementation, testing, demonstrations, and production transition, with Engineers owning detailed engineering and operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
- Five or more years of experience in software development or solutions architecture is strongly preferred.
- Two or more years of hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms, LLMs, or applied AI tooling is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and APIs, including LLM integration, retrieval/grounding, prompt design, and evaluation.
- Experience rapidly prototyping with low-code/no-code and full-stack tools.
- Strong communication, analytical reasoning, systems thinking, writing, and ability to synthesize complex technical information for technical and executive audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
