Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency, highly scalable mission-critical applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and microservices.
- Lead engineering activities, provide technical direction and mentoring, serve as a subject-matter expert, and contribute to technology roadmaps and control initiatives.
- Deploy and train Generative and Agentic AI applications while enforcing Responsible AI controls for safety and soundness.
- Develop, integrate, test, deploy, monitor, and tune application code across the software development lifecycle.
- Design Kafka-based application workflows and manage topics, partitions, brokers, caching, and database integrations.
- Provide level 3 support for critical application issues, improve application stability and availability, and collaborate on resiliency and business-continuity testing.
- Contribute to SRE continuous-improvement work and collaborate across multiple teams and virtual teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in full-stack development and automation, particularly with Spring Boot, microservices, Core Java/J2EE, Node.js, Angular, React, and API development.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of service-oriented architecture, microservices, REST services, and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with JavaScript testing, mocking frameworks, CI/CD, GitHub, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, BMC LightSpeed, and COIN.
- Working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and other enterprise databases.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies, Redis, Memcached, Couchbase, containers, ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Automation experience using Ansible and Python is preferred.
- Knowledge of OAuth, SSL, JWT, observability tools, monitoring, reporting, performance tuning, and application availability practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments with JIRA, preferably within financial services or another large, complex, global environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, diagnostic, prioritization, ownership, project management, and cross-team collaboration skills.
