Base Salary
$132k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex, multi-workstream forward deployment projects within customer development programs.
- Serve as the technical lead for high-impact customer engagements and architect specialized solutions.
- Analyze signaling flows, traces, timing behavior, performance data, logs, packet captures, and call flows to diagnose failures across protocol layers.
- Write and modify application, protocol-stack, supporting software, and firmware code.
- Develop Python APIs, customer workflow automation, and diagnostic instrumentation.
- Develop, validate, and deploy controlled patches, feature flags, and interim releases.
- Prototype new features with customers and incorporate broadly applicable field improvements into the core product.
- Translate field problems into engineering requirements and defects for product management and R&D.
- Mentor lower-level engineers and help develop the forward deployment engineering team.
- Work onsite or travel to customer locations as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, with 8+ years of relevant software or systems engineering experience.
- Strong software-development experience across multiple software stacks.
- Expertise in at least one wireless domain, including PHY/L1, MAC/RLC/PDCP and L2, or RRC/NAS and L3, with working knowledge of adjacent layers.
- End-to-end knowledge of 4G, 5G, and 5G-Advanced system behavior.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python including API development, Linux, embedded or real-time software, and automated testing.
- Experience debugging protocol interactions using logs, traces, packet captures, call flows, and timing analysis.
- Familiarity with 3GPP specifications and standards compliance, interoperability, and implementation behavior.
- Experience with design and test instrumentation and test emulation tools.
- Ability to produce production-quality code that ships in customer builds.
- Ability to operate within confidential customer development programs and explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated technical leadership solving unusually complex problems and setting direction for other engineers.
- Post-graduate study and/or relevant certification or license may be required.
