Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable single- and multi-agent systems with planning, tool and function calling, MCP, memory, and long-running workflows.
- Develop self-improving systems with automated evaluations, LLM-as-judge workflows, prompt and program optimization, synthetic data, and fine-tuning from production signals.
- Create evaluation harnesses, tracing, observability, and guardrails covering application quality, cost, and latency.
- Select, adapt, fine-tune, serve, benchmark, and integrate open-weight models on SambaNova’s platform.
- Build polished full-stack web applications, vertical knowledge-work solutions, multimodal document pipelines, and real-time voice agents.
- Set technical direction for the solutions portfolio, shared frameworks, components, and engineering standards.
- Lead customer discovery, workshops, hackathons, technical co-builds, and executive architecture engagements from prototype through production.
- Mentor solutions engineers, review designs, publish reference architectures and starter kits, and develop SambaStack deployment and integration tooling.
- Provide field feedback on models, platform capabilities, developer experience, and product priorities.
- Represent SambaNova through demos, talks, blogs, open-source examples, and community contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of industry experience for IC5 or 10+ years for IC6 in software, ML, or solutions engineering, including 3+ years building LLM-based applications that reached production.
- Proven experience building agentic systems with tool and function calling, multi-agent orchestration, and frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Claude Agent SDK.
- Hands-on experience serving, prompting, fine-tuning, and evaluating open-weight models, including LoRA/PEFT.
- Strong full-stack skills with expert Python, TypeScript, React/Next.js, APIs, and cloud deployment.
- Experience designing LLM application evaluations and benchmarks covering quality, latency, and cost.
- Excellent customer communication skills and the ability to lead workshops and explain architecture to executives and engineers.
- Track record of technical leadership, architecture direction, mentoring senior engineers, and owning outcomes for strategic accounts.
- Preferred experience includes self-improving or learning systems, reinforcement learning from feedback, synthetic data, continual fine-tuning, real-time voice agents, speech models, multimodal and vision-language systems, document understanding, enterprise-scale RAG, inference frameworks, hardware-aware performance tuning, MCP, agent security, guardrails, open-source contributions, public demos, and AI technical content.
