Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and direction to engineering team members.
- Lead software system design and architecture decisions, including technology, frameworks, and tools.
- Develop scalable applications and microservices using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Design, deploy, and manage secure, highly available systems on private cloud infrastructure.
- Build and orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Manage dependencies, builds, automated testing, code reviews, and testing strategies.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas, queries, messaging systems, and enterprise integration workflows.
- Monitor and optimize application performance and conduct performance and load testing.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs with JSON and XML data handling.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and manage infrastructure as code practices.
- Implement security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Communicate technical concepts across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and pursue process and technology improvements.
- Travel domestically to JPMC partner sites up to 10% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field plus six years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a master's degree in one of the listed or related fields plus four years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable, highly available, and secure private-cloud systems.
- Experience with OAuth 2, Spring Security, Docker, Docker Compose, Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Maven, JUnit, relational databases, Oracle, SQL, CQL, Kafka, Dynatrace, Splunk, and JMeter.
- Experience with Git, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, Spring Integration, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience implementing encryption algorithms and managing encryption keys and certificates.
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical organizations, business stakeholders, and strategic partners.
