Responsibilities
- Design architecture for large-scale co-brand credit card platforms using service-oriented and event-driven system patterns.
- Oversee cloud architecture and platform capabilities for scalable distributed systems in alignment with enterprise standards and reliability objectives.
- Define observability standards for logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
- Lead resiliency and reliability strategies including fault tolerance, failure isolation, recovery, high availability, and scalability.
- Integrate distributed applications with z/OS-based mainframe APIs while ensuring compatibility and data consistency.
- Design and develop frontend applications for co-branded credit card audit, reporting, and data visualization.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and SRE teams to translate business requirements into scalable designs and enterprise integrations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field plus 3 years of qualifying experience, or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields plus 5 years of qualifying experience.
- Three years of experience implementing REST APIs, Kafka, user interfaces, service integrations, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, guardrails, and automated deployments.
- One year of experience with AWS Step Functions, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, ALB, NLB, COBOL on z/OS, CICS, IBM MQ, IMS, Apache Flink, enterprise APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, IAM roles, and React.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Terraform-managed cloud infrastructure, AWS Fault Injection Service, ECS, EKS, resilience testing, monitoring alerts, rollback playbooks, and mainframe JVM services.
- Experience with IMS and DB2 change data capture, MQ, Kafka, JMeter, BlazeMeter, Cucumber, Gherkin, Hoverfly, Pact, Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude for software development and applying machine learning and AI concepts in software development.
- Experience configuring DNS, service discovery, traffic management, health checks, autoscaling, rollout strategies, blue-green deployments, microservices delivery, API design, TDD, and peer reviews.
