Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, stable, and scalable software components.
- Write high-quality backend code with limited guidance and consider upstream and downstream technical implications.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, secure coding standards, and responsible handling of sensitive data.
- Analyze diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools, processes, methodologies, and technical troubleshooting practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Proficiency with backend technologies including Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating production workloads using core AWS services.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages.
- Understanding of application resiliency, security, and software delivery practices.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted developer tools or agents such as Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent, including critical evaluation of generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: Kubernetes experience, especially EKS, including deployment, operation, and troubleshooting of containerized workloads.
- Preferred: experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure as code.
- Preferred: familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Preferred: AWS certifications such as Developer Associate or Solutions Architect.
