Responsibilities
- Develop variable-degree-of-freedom simulations and related mission design software tools.
- Develop, integrate, and test software enhancements and capabilities.
- Prepare software delivery documentation and recommend improvements to software design and development processes.
- Support mission design software compliance with Class C requirements under NPR 7150.2 and maintain tools according to established procedures.
- Participate in requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and other software lifecycle activities.
- Work collaboratively with NASA civil servants and contractor employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area, or equivalent experience in the field.
- Proficiency in C++, Fortran, and Python.
- Experience delivering products with source code management tools such as Git or GitLab.
- Experience implementing and enforcing software coding standards.
- Experience with full software lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and techniques and software task management or collaboration tools.
- Experience with Agile frameworks, methodologies, and techniques.
- Experience working in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prepare written documents, present at meetings, and work with limited supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Preferred: experience with NASA Software Engineering Requirements NPR-7150.2D, DO-178C, NASA Software Assurance, or NASA Software Safety Standard.
- May require U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency and completion of a U.S. government background investigation.
