Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software solutions for credit investment workflows.
- Build and maintain front-end, backend, integration, data, API, service, and user-facing application capabilities.
- Partner with the Credit Engineering Lead on architecture, system design, technology decisions, technical roadmaps, and platform modernization.
- Develop cloud-native, containerized applications using Kubernetes and implement observability, logging, monitoring, and operational support capabilities.
- Design APIs and integration services using messaging, event streaming, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, troubleshooting, production support, release processes, automated testing, and deployment standards.
- Contribute to software engineering excellence, DevOps practices, engineering controls, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor Associate and Analyst software engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and technical coaching.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Investment Technology, investment professionals, operations, Data & AI teams, and other business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 5–8 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and modern backend development frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, APIs, integration patterns, service-oriented architectures, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, messaging, streaming technologies, cloud-native development, Kubernetes, and containerized platforms.
- Experience with large-scale software delivery, complex business environments, production application support, and cross-functional technical and business collaboration.
- Experience with software design patterns, SDLC, CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps tooling, debugging, performance tuning, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational excellence.
- Experience mentoring developers or providing technical leadership across development initiatives.
- Financial services experience is strongly preferred, particularly with investment management, capital markets, lending, credit, or alternative asset management platforms.
- Familiarity with DealCloud or other pipeline management systems and credit systems such as Allvue is preferred; WSO experience is a plus.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, ownership, accountability, and delivery skills.
