Base Salary
$155k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, training, and deployment of large language and multimodal foundation models for clinical and biomedical domains.
- Apply supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning-based methods, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, prompt tuning, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and engineers to design ML solutions that improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.
- Build scalable distributed-training infrastructure using TPU/GPU clusters and multi-node orchestration.
- Evaluate models for robustness, bias mitigation, factual consistency, explainability, fairness, and safety.
- Contribute to generative AI research through publications and open-source initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering or machine learning experience, or at least 3 years with a PhD.
- Experience designing and training LLMs or large-scale generative models such as GPT, PaLM, LLaMA, Claude, or Gemma.
- Deep expertise in NLP, sequence modeling, and transformer architectures.
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, along with strong scalable ML pipeline engineering skills.
- Experience with reinforcement-learning-based fine-tuning and evaluation of generative systems.
- Ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD or equivalent experience, healthcare or biomedical informatics experience, multimodal foundation model experience, vector database and semantic search experience, top-tier ML conference publications, and experience with trustworthy AI, interpretability, fairness, or safety frameworks.
