Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems for the automated order-taking platform.
- Integrate backend services with machine learning models, client devices, and third-party restaurant software systems.
- Monitor and optimize backend performance in production environments.
- Build integrations with POS, loyalty, payment gateway, and customer data platforms.
- Apply system design, code quality, testing, security, and maintainability best practices.
- Optimize AI pipelines for challenging audio environments, ambiguous customer requests, and rapid menu expansion.
- Develop LLM and voice AI capabilities and run experiments to validate the product impact of new functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least four years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, and maintaining backend infrastructure in production environments.
- Proven experience building and deploying scalable, high-performance backend systems.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment technologies such as AWS, along with API design experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and cross-functional product skills.
- Preferred experience includes audio, taking a backend system from zero to one, integrating with many third-party APIs and POS systems, and working in or alongside AI/ML.
- Python, Kotlin, or Java experience is preferred.
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
