Responsibilities
- Build strategic relationships with key technology partners and customers.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and map customer business or technical challenges to appropriate solutions.
- Provide Ubuntu and related technology expertise to sales staff, partners, and customers developing and implementing complex IoT products and end-to-end solutions.
- Develop and present technical sales collateral, including presentations, how-to guides, and competitive technical documents.
- Propose and present custom solutions based on Ubuntu Core, Snaps, and other Canonical technologies.
- Work with IoT, Cloud sales, delivery, business development, and APAC teams to grow existing accounts and win new customers.
- Coordinate and prepare responses to RFx documents.
- Champion the technical knowledge and product skills needed to meet customer requirements and close new business.
Requirements
- A degree in engineering, preferably computer science or software engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical roles involving Linux, preferably Ubuntu.
- At least 2 years of enterprise or commercial software development experience with Linux.
- Experience deploying embedded and IoT solutions across hardware, operating systems, applications, and cloud services.
- Understanding of IoT security issues, the Linux kernel, modules, BSPs, boot loaders, and hardware-related Linux development.
- Familiarity with x86 and ARM SoC architectures and vendors.
- Experience in areas such as automotive, robotics, gateways, networking, industrial systems, or digital signage.
- Advanced scripting, Linux software development, and Linux software packaging experience.
- Familiarity with open-source development tools, methodology, licenses, and license compliance requirements.
- Strong English and Chinese communication skills, including online technical collaboration.
- Excellent customer communication and presentation skills, including support for technology and industry conferences.
- Ability to support complex sales cycles involving detailed technical requirements, multiple stakeholders, and innovative product designs.
- Ability to work productively in a globally distributed team and deliver to schedules.
