Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a backend engineering team focused on identity and access management.
- Develop authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle, user identity, and machine identity capabilities.
- Design and build scalable cloud-based identity systems and secure service-to-service authentication.
- Implement OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, RBAC/ABAC models, and authorization policy engines such as OPA.
- Drive technical design, execution planning, and delivery of complex distributed systems.
- Partner with global and cross-functional teams to deliver secure infrastructure for AI workloads.
- Ensure identity-system reliability, scalability, and security as platform usage grows.
- Mentor engineers and foster an ownership- and excellence-focused engineering culture.
Requirements
- 13–17 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development experience using Java or Python and REST API design.
- Hands-on experience with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, authentication, and authorization technologies.
- Strong understanding of user identity, machine or workload identity, and distributed system security.
- Experience with service-to-service authentication and cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Experience building IAM systems in AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Familiarity with PKI, certificate lifecycle management, secure identity frameworks, RBAC, ABAC, OPA, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, execution, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
