Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Thought MachineResponsibilities
- Support product engineering teams through design discussions, RFCs, and code reviews focused on fault tolerance and scalability.
- Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, redundancy, capacity planning, and fleet management strategies.
- Participate in a global on-call rotation and identify and resolve bottlenecks in SaaS customer environments.
- Maintain production systems hosting Vault products.
- Define and design product features that improve reliability and user experience.
- Implement and regularly test disaster recovery strategies.
- Maintain documentation, operational processes, and runbooks.
- Mentor team members in technical skills and understanding of Vault products.
Requirements
- Track record of delivering high-impact, scalable projects while ensuring human intervention scales sub-linearly with usage growth.
- Current understanding of design patterns for hosting and networking architectures.
- Ability to independently drive projects to completion and delegate work effectively.
- Significant project or initiative experience using Python or Golang.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Expertise in database administration, networking, observability tools, or automation infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with either GCP or AWS.
- Demonstrated technical excellence, proactive product development, and ability to collaborate with team members, senior stakeholders, and customers.
