Responsibilities
- Implement small, well-specified changes to VHAL and Car Framework components, including property configuration, signal mapping, callbacks, and getter/setter paths.
- Write and maintain unit tests and improve coverage for assigned modules.
- Build and maintain development and test tooling, including property injection scripts, log parsers, signal simulators, and test fixtures.
- Assist with build, flash, and bring-up activities on development boards and target head units.
- Reproduce defects, gather logs and traces, and fix straightforward issues with guidance.
- Learn AOSP workflows, the Car Framework property model, and team coding conventions.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and escalate blockers clearly.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful Android or embedded systems exposure.
- Competence in Java and/or Kotlin for independently writing clear code and unit tests.
- Working knowledge of C++ fundamentals, including syntax, classes, pointers/references, and STL basics.
- Understanding of Android application and service fundamentals, including components, lifecycle, Service, AIDL, and permissions.
- Basic Linux command-line competence and fluency with Git.
- Ability to learn platform-level concepts quickly.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Preferred: prior AOSP exposure, Android Automotive emulator or AAOS app development experience, awareness of CAN bus, ECU, and infotainment architecture, and Python or Bash scripting experience.
