Responsibilities
- Design and develop cockpit HMI applications for instrument clusters, IVI systems, and HUD displays using Android Automotive OS, Qt/QML, HTML5, or WebGL.
- Implement infotainment features including media playback, navigation, phone and Bluetooth connectivity, voice assistants, and vehicle settings.
- Develop instrument-cluster functions such as virtual gauges, ADAS overlays, drive-mode displays, and warning management.
- Integrate applications with vehicle data services through VHAL, CAN signals, SOME/IP, and DDS.
- Implement UI animations and optimize 60/120 fps rendering pipelines using OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or GPU-accelerated Qt Quick.
- Write unit, instrumentation, and UI automation tests for cockpit applications.
- Ensure compliance with OEM UX guidelines and automotive HMI regulations.
- Debug application performance using profiling and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with UX designers, middleware engineers, and V&V teams in agile sprints.
- Document software designs, APIs, and test records using JIRA, Confluence, and Polarion in accordance with ASPICE SWE requirements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required; the posting also specifies at least 4 years of digital cockpit or automotive infotainment experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Automotive Engineering, with 15 years of full-time education.
- Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and C++ for Android Automotive or Qt-based cockpit application development.
- Experience with AAOS or AOSP application lifecycle components, car APIs, and content providers.
- Knowledge of Qt/QML, C++ backend integration, property binding, animations, and Qt Quick rendering.
- Understanding of AAOS car services including CarMediaService, CarNavigationManager, CarAudioManager, and CarPropertyManager.
- Experience with GPU shader profiling, render-pipeline optimization, and memory management.
- Familiarity with Bluetooth A2DP, HFP, PBAP, MAP, Wi-Fi, and USB connectivity in automotive IVI systems.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, CI/CD workflows, and the Android Soong/Blueprint and Make build systems.
- Preferred experience with AIDL/HIDL, voice-assistant SDK integration, and COVESA VSS.
- Preferred understanding of ISO 26262 ASIL-A/B implications for safety-relevant cockpit displays.
