Base Salary
$17k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and iterate IAM platforms used across Coupang’s ecosystem.
- Partner with teams across the company to understand current needs and future direction.
- Design robust, scalable, highly available, and efficient systems.
- Develop backend APIs in Java and Go using industry-standard frameworks.
- Drive platform adoption and help teams prioritize technical work.
- Investigate critical system issues and improve operational excellence.
- Serve as an engineering role model and help shape team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in backend software development.
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Experience building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
- Preferred: master’s or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, IAM systems, identity providers, and role-based authorization.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, Istio, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Preferred: fluency in one or more of C++, Java, and Go.
- Preferred: experience designing large-scale distributed systems and high-reliability, low-latency cloud systems.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and strong knowledge of cloud application architecture, API design, performance, and scale.
