Responsibilities

  • Build and support highly available, customer-facing services at Apple Services scale.
  • Improve the reliability and performance of server software supporting iCloud Photos, Mail, Drive, Backup, and other services.
  • Manage and scale distributed systems across public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Apply monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and automation throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Implement automation and improve the tools used to manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
  • Identify and communicate technical and architectural problems and collaborate with partner teams on solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps-focused roles.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system principles, networking fundamentals, and systems management.
  • Fluency in at least one of Java, Python, or Go.
  • Experience managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and Kubernetes container orchestration.
  • Awareness of security principles including encryption, keys, and key exchange protocols.
  • Understanding of SRE practices including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and automation.
  • Strong ownership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include automation implementation, Python scripting, and partnership-building experience.
