Base Salary
$206k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop global, highly available, and resilient architectures across components and data centers.
- Design latency-critical, time-sensitive, redundant, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Investigate database write concerns, cross-region TLS handshakes, and issues in live distributed production systems.
- Develop systems that automate disaster detection and failover.
- Write, scope, design, implement, and deploy solutions using Ruby, Java, Mongo, Postgres, and other technologies.
- Collaborate across the company on multi-region architectures, high-durability implementation patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in design and code reviews while maintaining high engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field plus five years of post-bachelor’s progressive software development experience, or a master’s degree or foreign equivalent plus three years of software development experience.
- Three years of experience with Go, Ruby, or Java.
- Three years of experience with database internals, including data movement, leader election, and quorums.
- Three years of experience with S3, EBS, EC2, and VPC cloud infrastructure services for scalable applications.
- Three years of experience designing and building Temporal workflows.
- Three years of experience using Trino SQL for data analysis and visualization.
- Three years of experience designing fault-tolerant systems using data sharding and replication strategies.
