Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end slices of the AI agent, including prompt and context architecture, retrieval over policy and coverage data, tools and API calls into claims systems, and human handoff.
- Build and operate evaluation loops with golden sets, trajectory evaluation, LLM-as-judge, production call-trace analysis, and release gates.
- Improve containment and resolution rates while preserving accuracy and instrumenting the system to measure both outcomes.
- Develop the synchronous voice path, including turn-taking, interruption handling, latency budgets, and the underlying telephony layer.
- Listen to carrier calls and recordings to identify and resolve conversation failures.
- Help shape product behavior, MVP scope, and claims workflows in collaboration with carriers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying AI applications, including shipping an LLM application relied on by real users.
- Fluency with LLMs, context engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows, supported by real machine learning and deep learning knowledge.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including reasoning about cost, latency, reliability, scalability, data stores, distributed systems, testing, security, privacy, and process automation.
- Experience using coding agents and managing their context, specifications, verifiers, and intervention points.
- Product sense and sufficient insurance or claims context to make decisions about agent behavior and workflow accuracy.
- Preferred experience with real-time or streaming voice systems, ASR, TTS, telephony, SBC/SIPREC, regulated domains, insurance, internal evaluation or observability tooling, machine learning experimentation and production model deployment, Guidewire products, DSPy, or GEPA.
Benefits
- US full-time base salary range is $176,000-$288,000.
- Benefits for eligible full-time employees and part-time employees working 30 or more hours per week include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company-sponsored retirement plan.
- Some roles may be eligible for annual bonuses, commissions, and/or long-term incentive awards.
